ICNA Relief: A New Resettlement Agency in St. Louis

On October 1, ICNA Relief began offering refugee resettlement services in St. Louis, Missouri, as an affiliate of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS)

Approved to begin resettlement by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM), ICNA becomes the seventh agency in Missouri to provide direct refugee resettlement and the second to do so in St. Louis. They join The International Institute of St. Louis, which has been providing immigrant and refugee services since 1919, in serving refugees in the region. ICNA also becomes the second LIRS affiliate in the state after RAISE began doing resettlement in Joplin earlier this year.

ICNA expects to resettle 115 refugees in Federal Fiscal Year 2024, which runs through September 30, 2024.

“Adding an additional affiliate in FFY24 is an important step in increasing the capacity of the local St. Louis community to provide a safe, secure and welcoming home for our new refugee neighbors,” says Paul Costigan, State Refugee Coordinator for Missouri. “We look forward to partnering with ICNA on providing high quality services to the populations they will serve.”

We're excited to work with Fouad Naseem, the Program Manager for the St. Louis office. He looks forward to connecting with other service providers in the area, so please don't hesitate to reach out! Fouad can be reached at fouad.naseem@icnarelief.org. In November, you can find them at their new office space located at 4030 Chouteau Ave, Suite 300, St. Louis, MO 63110.

As the nation attempts to resettle 125,000 refugees this federal fiscal year, we are excited to have one more refugee resettlement agency in the state to help reach that goal.

Below are other agencies across Missouri that are providing direct resettlement services.
